ugh so nikolai fraiture, bassist of the strokes, has said they have no plans to tour their 5th album comedown machine…
which is so shitty if it stays that way. they did barely anything for angles, from what i remember it was mainly festivals. maybe they did other shows elsewhere but nothing in the UK apart from reading/leeds, isle of wight and a few others in 2010
i guess they don’t really need to tour at this point, the majority of them are settled down with lives that touring would probably clash with
this is probably their last album as well. it’s hard to tell, but i immediately read into the album title. they’re on a 5 album contract, and i’d hoped (seeing as how cold angles felt) that because their hearts seemed back in it that they’d carry on anyway, but they seem so over it, and fair enough i guess
by the time i was old enough to listen to and appreciate them, they no longer existed that way, them and their music. room on fire is probably my favourite album ever and by the time i got to hear it it was already gone, and it sucks to think i’ll never see them with that energy
